(WA91-93 points) The 2013 Puligny-Montrachet les Folatières 1er Cru, which is coming from two parcels, has a more exotic bouquet than the Champs Gain at the moment with hints of peppermint and licorice underlying the citrus fruit. The palate is vibrant right from the start with citrus lemon, orange zest and white peach. There is clearly great weight here, fine length and precision, and it constitutes one of the best 2013s from François Carillon. - Neal Martin

(BH90-92 points) A pungent nose combines similar notes of mineral reduction though here there is just enough wood to comment on but not so much as to suppress the ripe but fresh peach, pear, apple and tangerine peel scents. There is fine volume and mid-palate density to the delicious, attractively textured and stony flavors that exhibit a touch more overall depth on the lingering and well-balanced finale. A classic Folatières. 2019+
