The deep, pure and black fruity bouquet offers up scents of black cherries, cassis, black plums, venison, chocolate, lovely soil tones and a smoky topnote. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied, young and primary, with a fine core, ripe, suave tannins and very good length and grip on the tangy finish.

The palate is medium-bodied with supple ripe black cherry, pomegranate and blackcurrant fruit with a shard of flint toward the finish. This is very harmonious, beautifully focused with a sophisticated finish that attests to the pedigree of this vineyard. This would be my pick of Chandon de Briailles 2013s.- NM

As is usually the case there is slightly finer mouth feel to the broad-shouldered flavors that also possess fine mid-palate concentration, all wrapped in a firmly structured but not hard finish. This is youthfully austere with just a hint of rusticity and this too will definitely require patience.

This is spicy, with sandalwood, vanilla, green olive and wild berry flavors building from start to finish. Balanced in a lean, tightly wound style, presenting a lingering, spicy aftertaste. Best from 2018 through 2032...   This is spicy, with sandalwood, vanilla, green olive and wild berry flavors building from start to finish.
