This is a very precise wine, steely and mineral. It has a smoky, flinty character that fits the image of an age-worthy Chablis. Under this texture lies the potential of delicious fruitiness, fresh and packed with sliced apple and quince flavors. Drink this wine from 2018.

Subtle wood influence sets off a ripe and fresh mixture of mineral reduction, floral, algae and tidal pool scents that also display a touch of sulfur. There is excellent volume to the utterly delicious and very stylish medium weight flavors that ooze both dry extract and a fine bead of minerality on the textured and wonderfully long finish. This is refined and pure and color me impressed for a first vintage. 2019+

Tasted blind at the annual “Burgfest” tasting in Brouilland. The 2013 Chablis 1er Cru Valorent has an understated bouquet with subtle flinty, slate-like aromas that gradually unfurl in the glass, a whiff of smoke emerging later. The palate is well balanced with citrus lemon, orange sorbet and green apple notes. Focused, animated and pretty, this is a beautifully crafted Fourchaume for the vintage.
