94+ The 2013 Clos des Ruchottes was raised in twenty percent new wood this year and was absolutely singing at the time of my visit. The very pure and sappy nose soars from the glass in a blaze of plums, red and black cherries, cocoa, incipient notes of grilled meat, a beautifully complex base of soil tones and a gentle framing of vanillin oak. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bdoied, pure and quite tightly-knit out of the blocks, with a very sappy core of fruit, stunning backend energy, lovely soil signature and a very long, ripely tannic finish. Great juice! (Drink between 2023-2065)
