Here too the expressive nose displays discreet notes of menthol along with plenty of wood and spice on the ripe aromas of assorted dark berry fruit and exotic teas. There is a beguiling texture to the round, rich and generously proportioned medium-bodied flavors that deliver very good if not truly excellent length. This highly seductive effort is too woody for me but it’s not without a certain appeal. 2021+

(WA88-90 points) The 2013 Echézeaux Grand Cru has a tightly wound bouquet with macerated small dark cherries, mixed with cassis, burnt toast and cedar. The new wood here is in the driving seat. The palate is medium-bodied with crisp tannins, nicely balanced with a keen thread of acidity. There is some decent brambly red berry fruit here although it has a lot of new oak to soak up. Maybe give this 5-6 years in bottle? - Neal Martin
