(BH90-93 points) This is also notably ripe though with a slightly different aromatic profile that is comprised by notes of essence of pear along with hints of lemon rind, white flowers and red grapefruit. Here too there is excellent volume and a succulent mouth feel to the relatively powerful and serious flavors that possess fine mid-palate concentration before concluding in a lightly mineral-inflected, sappy and strikingly long finish. Terrific.

Tasted blind at the annual “Burgfest” tasting in Bouilland. The 2013 Saint-Aubin 1er Cru Les Murgers des Dents de Chien has a very refined bouquet, detailed with apple blossom and fresh lime, a granitic note tucked just underneath. The palate is well balanced with crisp acidity, tensile from start to finish with well integrated oak, hints of almond and walnut developing towards the satisfying finish.
