The 2013 Bourgogne rouge, as is customary, had been bottled before the harvest of 2014, and was showing quite well at the time of my December visit. The wine offers up a pretty and red fruity bouquet of cherries, blood orange, smoke, fresh herbs and a nice base of soil. On the palate the wine is medium-full, long and tangy, with just a touch of tannin, good depth and a long, tangy finish. Like all serious Bourgogne bottlings, it needs a couple of years in the cellar to really come into its own, but it will be quite tasty when it is ready. (Drink between 2017-2030)
