(WA91-93 points) The 2013 Nuits Saint Georges 1er Cru Les Murgers has a cohesive bouquet with red currant, raspberry and just a touch of tinned peach, quite Vosne-like in style. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannin, the oak needing a little more time to fully integrate. But it is endowed with a pleasant, endearing spiciness, almost fieriness that lends the finish intrigue. This has finesse and focus, constituting and supremely well-crafted 2013. - Neal Martin

(BH90-93♥ points) Reduction is sufficiently strong so as to render the nose impossible to evaluate. There is excellent size, weight and density to the medium-bodied flavors that possess a really lovely mouth feel thanks to the abundant dry extract as well as the quality of the tannins which are finer than usual. Even so the Nuits roots are in evidence as the lingering finish does display a touch of rusticity as well as an interesting hint of blood orange. This is well worth considering provided that you have at least a modicum of patience.

Perfumed aromas of black cherry, raspberry and rose petal lifted by spices. Sweet, sappy and light on its feet, with red berry and floral flavors displaying lovely sucrosité and inner-mouth aromatic lift. Finishes with sweet tannins and subtle notes of leather and earth. A very elegant Vosne-side Nuits-Saint-Georges, and a distinct step up in quality from the preceding wines.

(JG91-92+ points) The 2013 Murgers was the first wine in the line that had not yet been racked, and it was a touch reduced at the time of my visit, but its ultimate quality was self-evident. With a bit of coaxing, the nose offers up scents of cherries, pomegranate, nutskin, gamebirds, fresh herb tones, lovely soil nuances and vanillin oak. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied, pure and quite soil-driven in personality, with ripe tannins, excellent focus and balance and a long, tangy and still quite primary finish.
