The 2013 Chapelle-Chambertin from Domaine Rossignol-Trapet is another stellar wine in the making. The excellent nose delivers a youthful blend of black cherries, black plums, dark berries, cocoa, beautifully complex soil tones, gamebirds and vanillin oak. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied, focused and very transparent, with a sappy core of fruit, fine-grained tannins and a very, very long, perfectly balanced and still youthfully reserved finish. This too is very reminiscent of top Gevrey grand crus in the 1993 vintage.
