(BH90-92 points) Along with the Petite Chapelle this possesses the most elegant nose among these Gevrey 1ers with its pretty array of pure and fresh floral, red berry and delicate earth nuances. There is a relatively seductively mouth feel to the round and delicious medium weight flavors that possess good verve before concluding in a balanced, complex and sleek finish that is youthfully austere at present. This should be lovely in time.

(WA89-91 points) The 2013 Gevrey Chambertin 1er Cru Clos Prieur has a more backward and austere bouquet compared to the Cherbaudes or the Corbeaux, but with aeration it reveals attractive blackberry, raspberry and sous-bois scents interlaced with cold granite. The palate is medium-bodied with grainy tannin, good depth and grip, a little nascent austerity but with a lovely chalky finish. Very fine. - Neal Martin
