(BH89-92 points) Mild reduction pushes the fruit to the background though it does seem ripe. There is a lovely sense of verve to the delineated and solidly intense medium weight flavors that possess lovely depth and a bit more Gevrey style earth on the well-balanced, saline and persistent finish. While I suspect that both this and the Craipillot will require about the same amount of time to arrive at their respective peaks, this will probably drink a bit less well in its youth. 2021+

(WA90-92 points) The 2013 Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Au Closeau, which was taken from a one-year-old barrel, has a fine, mineral-led bouquet with fine definition. The palate is crisp and delineated with fine tannins and a sense of energy toward the finish. This is one of the better wines from Drouhin-Laroze this year. - Neal Martin
