Picking favorites among DuMOL’s very successful 2013 Pinots is an exercise in studying small differences, and, in all truth, it is hard to go wrong with any of the winery’s latest offerings. This deeply drawn effort mimics its mates in terms of its very generous, keenly focused, ripe cherry fruit and its judicious oak enrichment, and, while all are well-balanced and structured for keeping, it is a bit brighter and more buoyant with a pert acid edge that bodes especially well for the future. It is sufficiently open to make for enjoyable drinking even now, but its best days are four or five years ahead and waiting is advised.
