The 2013 Riesling Spatlese Norheimer Kirschheck offers very fine raisin and grey slate aromas on the nose, richer and riper fruit than the Leistenberg Kabinett because this is a south-facing site and –– a Spätlese... The 2013 Riesling Spatlese Norheimer Kirschheck offers very fine raisin and grey slate aromas on the nose, richer and riper fruit than the Leistenberg Kabinett because this is a south-facing site and –– a Spätlese. Adjacent to the Dellchen but without any volcanic elements, the wine is juicy and sensual but also pure and piquant, persistently salty and dancing, very pure and extremely sexy. Wow, this tropical juiciness here is alluring. - Stephan Reinhardt

Brilliant aromas and flavors of apple, cherry blossom and oyster shell enlivened by herbal spices. At once dense and juicy, with finely chiseled acidity refreshing the palate. At once dense and juicy, with finely chiseled acidity refreshing the palate. This delicate, well-balanced Riesling finishes in its own pure and invigorating style. While this is often my favorite Spätlese at this estate, my nod this year goes to the Hermannshöhle. -- Joel B. Payne
