(92+) The 2013 Clos Vougeot from Maison Jadot is a young and properly reserved wine out of the blocks, but this will clearly be very fine in the fullness of time. The nose wafts from the glass in a complex blend of red and black cherries, venison, cocoa, woodsmoke, a refined base of soil and cedary oak. On the palate the wine is pure, full-bodied and tightly-knit, with a fine core, lovely soil inflection, ripe tannins and a very long, tangy and promising finish. Very good potential here.
