A juicy, fleshy red, exhibiting pretty strawberry and cherry flavors tinged by oak spice. Firmly structured, elegant and silky in texture, opening with air and winding into a lingering, spicy finish. Best from 2018... A juicy, fleshy red, exhibiting pretty strawberry and cherry flavors tinged by oak spice. (WA89-91 points) The 2013 Corton-Pougets Grand Cru (under the Domaine des Heritiers Jadot label) has a slightly high-toned, quite opulent bouquet with kirsch, cassis and raspberry preserve scents that gradually calm down in the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins, a fine line of acidity and a slightly "blocky" finish that does not quite possess the finesse of the Corton-Greves at this premature stage. Hopefully, it will mellow and manifest more refinement when in bottle. - Neal Martin

(BH89-91 points) More measured amounts of wood and menthol elements are present but do not dominate the cool and very pure essence of red currant, forest floor, earth and, like the Grèves, soft sauvage nuances. I like the sense of tension and vibrancy given off by the medium weight plus flavors that possess plenty of minerality before delivering fine length on the dusty and moderately austere finish. This isn’t dry but would be fair to say that it’s no charmer either. 2021+

Intriguing aromas of strawberry, smoky minerality, herbs, spices and iodine. Supple but quite dry, showing very good lift and a firm underlying spine to flavors of bitter cherry, spices and earth. Much more closed and tannic than a barrel sample I tasted in the fall of 2014. There's nothing easy about this solidly structured Corton today.

Lovely sweet cherry notes burst forth upon opening, backed by aromas of black tea and Asian spice. On the palate, this is a medium weight wine with a surprisingly full and plush mouth-feel, yet juxtaposed by hearty structure through the mid-palate and finishing with refined tannins. The balance is exquisite, and this stacked and complex Corton is showing its Grand Cru pedigree, but it will need a few more years to really round into form and then hold strong for a decade-plus.
