This beautifully balanced wine shows toast that counterpoints the generous yellow fruits and acidity. It’s a ripe wine, touched by honey, spice and peach flavors. The aftertaste, with its total freshness, is crisp, lively, mouthfilling and refreshing. Drink from 2018.

(BH91-93 points) This is also firmly reduced with leesy notes framed in wood. On the plus side there is outstanding richness to the punchy and sleek medium weight flavors that culminate in a markedly dry and moderately austere finish. However I would not expect either characteristic to last for very long because the richness is such that it suggests that the finish will round out with only a few years of cellaring. 2021+

(WA91-93 points) The 2013 Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru les Pucelles had a touch of reduction on the nose when I tasted it, although there is still plenty of concentration here, with grapefruit and melon scents neatly intertwined with the cold wet stone aromas. The palate is very well balanced with real weight and density in the mouth. This is a heavyweight les Pucelles that might not possess the elegance or finesse of the Folatieres, but reveals enormous persistence and power. - Neal Martin
