There are two 500 liter barrels, one new and one used. It has a gorgeous nose already: very floral and exuberant, very sensual with pure crème de cassis and blueberry scents. The palate is medium-bodied with very good structure, supremely well-judged acidity and enthralling harmony and precision toward the finish. There is a sense of completeness here: the wine of the vintage for Drouhin? Fabulous and sumptuous, this will seduce at ten paces. - Neal Martin

The 2013 Amoureuses is outstanding from the Drouhins, offering up a pure and primary bouquet of red and black cherries, a touch of nutskin, fresh herb tones, a beautiful base of soil tones, gamebirds and a suave base of nutty new wood. On the palate the wine is complex, full-bodied and beautifully balanced, with a fine core, ripe tannins, bright acids and outstanding length and grip on the youthful and very promising finish. This will be an absolutely classic vintage of Drouhin Amoureuses. (Drink between 2023-2065)

(BH92-94 points) This is arguably even more elegant than the Petits Monts and just as spicy with a gorgeously pure array of violet, lavender, red currant, blue pinot and the same tea-like nuances. There is a palpable sense of energy to the intensely mineral-driven and beautifully well-delineated medium-bodied flavors that possess knockout length on the impeccably well-balanced finish. This stylish effort is class in a glass. 2023+

Brisk, dry and light on its feet, offering lovely inner-mouth perfume and lift. The sexy underbrush quality carries through on the palate. Finishes dry and perfumed, with lovely floral persistence.
