Harvest from September 10th to October 10th, the 2013 Pinot Noir Sonoma Coast is a sexy, supple and textured effort that has lots of jammy dark fruits, licorice and toasted spice. Surprisingly textured and rounded, it has terrific purity and a hard-to-resist personality. I don't see any reason to delay gratification and would drink bottles over the coming 4-5 years. - Jeb Dunnuck

Medium ruby color; bright wild plum and cherry aromas with traces of oak spice; ripe and polished cherry and plum flavors with fine tannins on the finish; good structure and balance; long finish. A ripe and polished Pinot with some bright and wild flavors.

This wine may be missing the extra concentration and depth that are shown by its maker’s top bottlings, but it gets good marks for its fruity definition all the same. It hails from an impossibly large appellation that encompasses widely varied climates and soils, and, rather than embracing the tighter construction born of cooler sites, it very much favors full ripeness and hints mildly at milk chocolate before finishing with a scant touch of trailing heat in its wake.
