93+ The 2013 Unus is a blend of 65% Malbec that brings roundness, 25% Cabernet Sauvignon that provides the tannic structure and 10% Petit Verdot that adds meatiness to the wine. The grapes were sourced from different subzones of Mendoza. It fermented in 5,000-liter stainless steel tanks with selected yeasts and matured in French oak barrel for 16 months. The nose shows great balance between ripeness, elegance, fruit and soil, with great freshness and poise, feeling the effect of the vintage in a subtler wine. There are notes of violets and morello cherries, fine spices and incipient complexity. The palate is equally balanced, with fine-grained, earthy tannins, subtle with even some austerity and a long, supple finish. 17,000 bottles were filled in March 2015. - Luis Gutierrez
