(JG88-90 points) The regular bottling of Butteaux was one of the few of the already bottled premier crus during my visit to the domaine that seemed still a bit out of sorts from the mise, as it was still quite closed down and not yet back on form. The bouquet is quite nice in its blend of pear, citrus zest, chalky soil tones, hay and apple blossoms. On the palate the wine is full-bodied and quite primary, with a good core, solid acidity and good length and grip on the currently grumpy finish. I am sure this will be quite fine in the more fruit-driven style of the vintage, but it was still a bit off form from the mise when I tasted it in the second week of December. (Drink between 2015-2022)
