Suave, perfumed aromas of black cherry, licorice, wild herbs and violet. Lovely cut and intensity to the juicy flavors of boysenberry, violet and spices. A step up in tension from the Charmes-Chambertin; in fact, this is youthfully imploded in a way that reminded me of a 2010. This wonderfully precise Clos Vougeot fills the mouth with perfume and spreads out horizontally to dust the palate on the long aftertaste. There's nothing soft about this beauty but nothing hard either. A spectacular young Clos Vougeot. 95?? - -- Stephen Tanzer

Tasted blind at Fine & Rare Wines' Clos Vougeot tasting, the 2013 Clos Vougeot Grand Cru from Olivier Bernstein has a slight earthiness on the nose, less fruit-driven than Bertrand Ambroise but perhaps demonstrating more pinoté. The palate is fresh and vibrant with a fleshy core of strawberry and cranberry fruit. There is good tension here, nicely structured with appreciable mineralité on the finish. - Neal Martin
