Wine Enthusiast, October 2021

Very much in the ripe Pol Roger style, this Champagne is just approaching maturity. With its balance of crisp minerality and richness, it is a great wine from a medium-quality vintage. Although the wine is ready to drink...

jamessuckling.com, July 2021

A tight, structured vintage Champagne with cherry, spice and some dried strawberry. Hints of biscuits, too. It’s medium-bodied with a tight, structured palate and a long, flavorful finish. Drink or hold.

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate, October 2020

Pol Roger's just-released 2013 Brut Vintage is a beautifully chiseled, incisive wine that will appeal immensely to purists. Unwinding in the glass with scents of citrus zest, white flowers, crushed chalk and hints of...

Decanter, October 2020

Flaxen straw, with a whisper of rare gold, subtlety writ large on the nose, with orchard fruit, verbena and a discreet hint of almond and cashew evidenced. The palate, with air, transforms sourdough into pastry, green...

Wine Spectator, August 2021

Expressive notes of baked black cherry and blackberry coulis are underscored by a minerally streak of brine and oyster shell in this focused Champagne, which is firmed by lemony acidity and balanced and enriched by hints...

Pol Roger is one of the oldest and most-distinguished luxury Champagne firms. Based in the heart of Epernay, it was established in 1849 and remains one of the few family-owned, grande-marquee Champagne houses. Five generations have remained loyal to the firm’s essential values of excellence and independence, ensuring that each wine is treated as an impeccable ambassador to their 160 years of history.

Pol Roger has carved out one of the most flattering reputations in the select circle of the leading Champagne brands. A personal favorite of Sir Winston Churchill (who has the firm’s top cuvee named after him), Pol Roger champagne has also been the British Royal Family’s choice over the years.

The house grows more than half its grapes on 89 estate hectares and sources the rest from select growers. Their cellars extend below the Avenue de Champagne for over seven kilometers on two levels. The deeper cellar maintains a lower temperature for the wine to develop finer bubbles.

The Pol Roger portfolio includes a vintage brut, a non-vintage brut, a brut nature, a demi sec, a vintage rose, a blanc de blancs and the Sir Winston Churchill prestige cuvee.

The Brut Vintage from Champagne Pol Roger is made from their traditional house vintage blend of 60% Pinot Noir and 40% Chardonnay, coming from 20 Grands and Premiers cru vineyards in the Montagne de Reims and the Cote des Blancs. Produced only in limited quantities, the Brut Vintage is aged for 8 years in the cellars before being disgorged and released onto the market.
