The 2013 Combottes from the Rossignol brothers is going to be a lovely wine. The nose is pure, complex and nicely perfumed, as it wafts from the glass in a mix of red and black cherries, plums, cocoa, a lovely base of soil, gamebirds, a touch of vanillin oak and a gently smoky topnote. On the palate the wine is fullish, pure and intensely flavored, with a lovely core, a fine, soil-driven personality, impressive nascent complexity and fine length and grip on the bright and beautifully balanced finish. (Drink between 2021-2050)
