I scored the 2013 Kupfergrube GG lower in August last year but when I tasted it again with the other Grosses Gewächs Rieslings of the estate it was significantly better developed offering a very clear bouquet with herbal flavors and breathtakingly precise volcanic aromas of wet and melting stones. Full-bodied and juicy on the palate the Kupfergrube is very well balanced due to a residual sugar of 7 grams per liter which gives this cru a sensuality and harmony that is really amazing. Great to drink now but it will still be great in 20 years. - Stephan Reinhardt
