Aromas reminiscent of dark chocolate as well as dark fruits and dried herbs. Chalky texture framed by polished tannins, subtle fruit and a tannin-driven finish. Needs at least three years to soften. Drink now.

The 2014 Badette is a wine that shot way above my expectation vis-à-vis its rather perplexing showing from barrel when it felt burdened by the oak regime. Now in bottle, it has an attractive bouquet of blackberry, raspberry and cedar aromas that are very well defined, very composed and nuanced. The palate is medium-bodied with fine, very supple tannins, crisp acidity and a sensual, very satisfying finish that offers plenty of white pepper-tinged black fruit and a long, spicy aftertaste. I just love the brightness to this wine, a vivid Saint Emilion to brighten your senses. - Neal Martin

Deep purple in color. Opens with an enthralling mix of rich black and red fruit on the nose with aromas of plum, red cherry and fig, supported by notes of mocha, pine sap and peat. Opens with an enthralling mix of rich black and red fruit on the nose with aromas of plum, red cherry and fig, supported by notes of mocha, pine sap and peat. On the palate it is bright and lively and shows much fresh red berry, crunchy red currant and plum flavors with cola and woodsmoke carrying on towards the finish. Fresh, light and finesse-driven, this is drinking beautifully right now and is a steal for what’s in the glass.
