Tasted blind at the Burgfest 2014 tasting, Vougeraie's 2014 Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru felt a little overripe on the nose at first, although with aeration it gained more delineation and harmony, evolving scents of incense and rose petals. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannin and sappy red berry fruit, and although there is a tad too much oak on the finish, that will be absorbed with another two or three years in bottle. Keep the faith. Tasted September 2017.- NM
