Roserock is the new vineyard project of the Drouhin family in Oregon, with 2014 being the first vintage released from the estate. The vineyard is planted on volcanic soils and is one of the cooler terroirs that the family works with in Oregon. The 2014 Roserock chardonnay offers up a pretty and quite floral bouquet of pear, gentle leesy tones, white lilies, fresh almond and vanillin oak. On the palate the wine is pure, full-bodied, crisp and focused, with a lovely core of fruit, bright acids and excellent bounce and grip on the long and very well-balanced finish. This is still quite a young wine and will blossom nicely with a bit of bottle age. Though this is the first vintage, the wine looks likely to age very gracefully. (Drink between 2016-2025)
