(BH89-91 points) This is more obviously Gevrey in character with its openly sauvage character on the humus and earth suffused dark berry fruit suffused nose. There is both good volume and richness to the solidly concentrated medium-bodied flavors that are presently quite serious, even brooding, on the rustic, long, firm and balanced finale. This too is worth checking out. 2022+

(WA88-90 points) The 2014 Gevrey-Chambertin Le Clos comes from younger vines planted in 1998. It has a lively, quite vivacious and floral bouquet with plenty of bright red fruit. The palate is supple and lithe, very nicely balanced, tender in the mouth with just a touch of lushness on the caressing finish. This is very fine even if it just seems a little curtailed by that cool August month. - Neal Martin
