(95+ points) From a vintage that suffered frost in April and caused heterogenous ripeness even inside the grape and caused botrytis in autumn, the 2014 Riesling Trocken Landgeflecht Unikat is the first vintage that aged on the full lees for two years. The wine shows an intense but clear, savory, concentrated and spicy bouquet that highlights the quartzite veins of the Landgeflecht terroir. Pure, elegant and fresh on the palate, this is a fresh and finely bitter Landgeflecht that lacks the texture and richness of the 2013 and 2012 but is more on the vital and finessed side. To me, however, the wine doesn't lack length but dimensions compared to the forerunners. It is stimulatingly bitter and a tiny bit astringent on the finish. Tasted at the domaine in August 2022. - Stephan Reinhardt
