jamessuckling.com, February 2017

Glorious aromatics with currants, flowers, stones and light mushrooms. Medium to full body and fine tannins that are long and polished. Super linear, structured and long. Drink in 2019.

janeanson.com, February 2024

Sage, rosemary, savoury bilberry fruits, well balanced, good quality, just a touch subdued, but this is still packed full of Pauillac crayon and pencil lead character, and hard to say no to. As I said last time I tasted...

Decanter, February 2020

Highly enjoyable, has gorgeous elegance and freshness, and is showing better right now than the 2015 Pauillac de Latour. Extremely fresh, hedgerow and cassis bud backed up by richer seams of liquorice and blackberry. Not...

jebdunnuck.com, November 2017

The second wine of the estate is the 2014 Les Forts De Latour and this beauty is better than most estate grand vin. Made from 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 42% Merlot, and the balance Petit Verdot, this straight up classic...

TheWineCellarInsider.com, April 2015

(90-93 points) With silky freshness and soft tannins, this wine delivers a mouthful of ripe black currant and is true blue to the distinct nature of Pauillac. The wine was made from a blend of 71.4% Cabernet Sauvignon and...

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate, May 2020

The 2014 Les Forts de Latour is a blend of 71.4% Cabernet Sauvignon and 28.6% Merlot. Deep garnet-purple colored, it needs a little coaxing to reveal expanding scents of blackcurrant pastilles, baked plums and...

Vinous, March 2024

The 2014 Les Forts de Latour has one of the most impressive aromatics amongst the Pauillac, with blackberry, cedar and cassis notes. A touch of pencil lead comes through with aeration. The palate is medium-bodied with...

Wine Enthusiast, April 2018

Packed with the fruit of the vintage, this wine is bright and crisp. Its acidity and pure black-currant flavors are delicious, juicy, the tannins now sitting easily in the background. The wine, which comes from a specific...

Wine Spectator, March 2017

Offers a core of pure cassis and blackberry fruit, with mouthwatering streaks of graphite and anise. Racy-edged, featuring ample grip buried through the finish. Reveals a violet echo for good measure. Textbook. Best from...

Chateau Latour, one of Bordeaux’s oldest and most famous wine producers, is a First Growth in the 1855 Bordeaux Classification. It’s located in Pauillac near the border with Saint-Julien.

Vines have existed on the property since the 14th century, but Chateau Latour first began producing wines of great quality in the early eighteenth century. The estate gradually came to specialize in wine production, with 38 hectares of vines in 1759 and 47 hectares in 1794.

The vineyard currently has 78 hectares in production. The grapes from the 47 hectares surrounding the chateau, known as “L’Enclos”, are used in the production of the Grand Vin. The 30 hectares outside of the Enclos are used for the Forts de Latour and the Pauillac wines. The estate is planted with about 80% Cabernet Sauvignon, 18% Merlot, and 2% Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot on gravelly hilltops and clay subsoil.
