After the misfiring Les Clos, the 2014 Chablis Grand Cru Vaudesir restores order with an excellent showing. Matured 25% in oak barrel and the remainder in stainless steel, it has a refined, almost understated bouquet, but that should not deter you from admiring its precision and focus. There is fine mineralité here, but it will require a few years to be unlocked. The palate is well balanced with crisp acidity, fine tension and weight in the mouth, with a touch of spice developing towards the finish that lingers in the mouth. Give this 3-4 years and you will have a well-crafted Vaudésir. - Neal Martin
