The fruit flavors are not as tropical but fresh, green and rather pale yellow. Full-bodied, round and intense, this is a top Rheingau Riesling with a lovely ripe and interwoven acidity (although it is the highest with 8.7 grams per liter). This wine is a melting stone with power, finesse, freshness and a great expression. Great Riesling, highly recommended. - Stephan Reinhardt collapse

Wine Spectator, June 2016
A steely style, with pure, intense flavors of dried apple, candied basil and lemon drop that are supported by powerful acidity. Savory notes linger on the zesty finish. Best after 2021. 1,833 cases made.–KM

Here, things pull more toward the shrubby and green herbal side, and the palate, alongside ripe Bartlett pear, features overt chalkiness and a bright streak of fresh lime, making for a slightly austere overall impression. Satisfying juiciness is retained in a sustained finish to which herbal, pear pip and mineral accents lend invigoration if also a certain severity. But give this a little time and it will probably stand tall alongside the corresponding Klosterberg and Gräfenberg bottlings. -- David Schildknecht collapse
