The 2014 Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Folatières has a well-defined, minerally bouquet with hints of wild fennel tincturing the citrus-driven fruit. It appears to gain intensity as it opens in the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with crisp acidity, a dash of spice tingling on the tip of the tongue, nicely weighted in the mouth, but then linear and correct on the finish, as if the wine has suddenly remembered to behave!
