The 2015 Deidesheimer Langenmorgen Riesling trocken GG shows a very clear and coolish nose, with delicate lemon peel aromas and smoky flavors of wet stones. Lean, compact and very elegant on the palate, with a rich and intense fruit core, this wine is carried by a vivacious mineral acidity and a remarkable finesse. This is another complex and compactly structured Riesling classic for the next 10-15 years. The wine has a great purity and elegance, and the finish is salty, finesse-full, intense and very long. The alcohol is pretty moderate (12.5%). - Stephan Reinhardt

Full, but finely nuanced nose of candied citrus peel of all kinds with a hint of smoke (from yeast contect). Full and powerful with a long finish in which there is as much fruit as mineral character.

Lentil and roasted peanut on the nose are reminiscent of this collection’s unusual Gimmeldingen bottling, and are allied with notes of corn meal and chalk dust frequently generated by this site. The palate impression is much brighter and juicier than the nose leads me to anticipate, with fresh apple and lemon offering refreshment on a sustained, mouthwateringly chalk- and salt-tinged finish. -- David Schildknecht
