Juicy, nicely intense, fresh wine with surprising energy but still tight. (Winemaker Bailly says this was picked a day after the Fourchaume but I would have guessed the opposite.) A substantial, silky wine with length and smoothness, building nicely on the firm, gripping finish. Winemaker Olivier Bailly says this wine was opulent and exotic last year like the 2016 is today--but not in bottle. - Stephen Tanzer
