(BH91-94 points) There is ample wood framing the softly earthy and very ripe aromas that are composed primarily of cassis and spiced tea. The suave, round and sappy medium weight flavors exude a fine bead of minerality on the concentrated and serious yet refined finish that displays a hint of youthful austerity. This too is quite impressive and should reward extended cellaring yet be approachable after 6 to 8 years. 2027+

Borders Les Saint-Georges to the north. Offers a very ripe dark-cherry nose with ample sweet earth and spice aromas. Really fresh with an average of 50% whole bunches. The definition of tannins on the palate is impressive. Finishes with crispness and verve. Try from 2020. - Nick Stock

The 2015 Nuits Saint-Georges 1er Cru Les Cailles is one of the highlights of Bouchard's red portfolio in 2015, offering up a complex nose of orange rind, squab, red and black fruit, strawberry and rose petal. On the palate, the wine is medium to full-bodied, with creditable depth and length, structured around fine-grained but firm tannins that assert themselves on the classically Nuits finish. While more might have been possible in the 2015 vintage, this is an excellent wine. - William Kelley
