The 2015 Rosso di Montalcino lifts from the glass with an exotic mix of foreign spice, crushed rose, violets, cloves and a dusting of confectioners sugar. This is soft, verging on fleshy, held together by bright acidity with masses of raspberry preserve and hard red candied fruit that set off all the pleasure meters. The 2015 really shows the power of the vintage, especially with its potency, while tapering off to grippy tannins and hints of licorice. There is a ridiculous amount of pleasure to be found here. Drink up.
