(WA94-97 points) The crème of the lineup and made from the normal blend of 60% Grenache and 40% Mourvèdre, aged in 20% new demi-muids, the 2015 Châteauneuf du Pape La Reserve is a full-bodied, polished and elegant example of this cuvée that offers lots of toasted spices, black raspberry and cassis fruit, beautifully ripe tannin and a great finish. I’d like to see a touch more mid-palate depth and concentration, but this is flat out gorgeous nonetheless. - Jeb Dunnuck

A total stunner, with a long, pure beam of raspberry and red currant coulis streaming through, flanked by light violet, iron and incense notes before picking up lilting rooibos tea and rose petal accents on the finish. The fruit never fades, and there’s perfectly embedded acidity weaving everything together. A dreamy wine. Best from 2020 through 2040. From France. — J.M.

Amazingly perfumed and floral, the 2015 Chateauneuf du Pape La Reserve is a striking wine, drawn from the sandy lieux-dits of La Guigasse and Pignan. The blend of 55% Grenache and 45% Mourvèdre yields plenty of refined cherry and stone fruit elements, silky tannins and great elegance on the long finish. It's not the biggest kid on the block, just one of the best looking. What a pretty wine! - Joe Czerwinski

(93-95 points) Youthful violet. A highly complex, expansive bouquet evokes ripe blueberry, Indian spices, candied lavender and sandalwood, and a zesty mineral overtone gains strength as the wine stretches out. Stains the palate with appealingly sweet red and blue fruit flavors that show impressive depth as well as vivacity, thanks to a spine of juicy acidity. The extremely long, floral-driven finish is given shape by fine-grained tannins that are quickly absorbed by the intense, concentrated fruit. - Josh Raynolds
