Besides that, there are ripe rose stems and dried lavender. It has a racy core of boisterous berries that dive inwards and outwards of firm, structured tannins. The juxtaposition of steely resolve and intense florals are quite remarkable. Very classy. Drink in 2025.

The finish is long, structured and impeccably balanced, with lingering notes of dried wild berries, leather and savory spice. This is really quite pretty and should get better after a few years of cellaring. -- Ian D'Agata

The wine is not overripe per se, but the warm conditions of the vintage have instead endorsed toasted or charcoal-like aromas. Those smoky tones are backed by dark fruit, cherry confit and blackberry preserves. Try out some barbecued beef ribs for this one. - Monica Larner
