Run by Jean-Philippe Janoueix and covering a scant 4.5 hectares of prime terroir located between Le Pin, Vieux Château Certain, and Petit Village, La Croix Saint Georges produces roughly 1,400 cases of this terrific Pomerol. The 2015 La Croix Saint Georges is blockbuster stuff that reminds me of the 2012, which is a killer wine. Made from 91% Merlot and 9% Cabernet Franc aged in 50% new oak, it offers an extroverted personality in its huge nose of blackcurrants, plums, saddle leather, and leafy herbs. Dense, medium to full-bodied, nicely concentrated and with moderate tannin, it should drink beautifully for 15+ years.
