The 2015 Domaine Mugnier les Fuées is beautifully sappy, but also quite black fruity in tone this year, as it offers up scents of plums, black cherries, musky floral tones, a hint of blood orange, lovely minerality and a gentle base of vanillin oak. On the palate the wine is pure, full-bodied and vibrant in personality, with a lovely core, fine focus and grip, tangy acids and impeccable focus on the long and suavely tannic, complex finish. This will need a good decade to offer up its fully complement of layered complexity, but will be accessible earlier for those who would like to enjoy its beautiful, sappy fruit of youth.
