The 2015 Clos de Vougeot from Maison Drouhin is another outstanding wine. The family’s parcel of vines lies next to those of Domaine Méo-Camuzet, just below the château. The bouquet is pure, reserved and very deep, offering up a constellation of black plums, black cherries, venison, bonfires, a complex base of soil, a youthful touch of stems and nutty new oak. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied and sappy at the core, with a powerful personality this year, a fine chassis of ripe tannins and a very long, classic and nascently complex finish. Just add bottle age! (Drink between 2027-2085)
