A fruity, sophisticated style, with a smooth texture accompanied by toasty oak. Cherry and berry flavors form the core, while mineral and earth elements add interest. Shows excellent harmony and length. Best from 2022... A fruity, sophisticated style, with a smooth texture accompanied by toasty oak. (89-91) The 2015 Gevrey-Chambertin Village felt a little taciturn on the nose following the relatively opulent array of Marsannay wines from Roty. But it unfolds in the glass offering pure raspberry and crushed strawberry scents, even a touch of game with time. The palate is well balanced with a fine line of acidity, crisp and focused with a gentle grip on the mineral finish. This is an excellent village cru from Roty and it should give a decade's worth of drinking pleasure. -Neal Martin

Here the wood influence is somewhat more obvious with menthol and toast nuances present on the plum, black cherry and earth-scented nose. There is impressive concentration to the full-bodied, rich and palate coating... Here the wood influence is somewhat more obvious with menthol and toast nuances present on the plum, black cherry and earth-scented nose. There is impressive concentration to the full-bodied, rich and palate coating flavors that possess a succulent mid-palate which contrasts markedly with the bold, rustic and powerful finish. This too is really very good for its level and recommended.
