(88-90) (there's more clay than chalk in these vines at the bottom of the village): Deep ruby-red. Slightly high-toned aromas of black raspberry, cherry, licorice and spices. Juicy, spicy, pliant wine with an attractive restrained sweetness as well as good density and inner-mouth lift to its dark fruit flavors; less high-toned on the palate than on the nose. A classic village Gevrey with suave tannins and good length.- ST
