The 2015 Châteauneuf-du-Pape Les Saintes Vierges is slightly darker in color and checks in as 90% Grenache, 9% Mourvèdre and the balance Counoise, all from the sandy soils of the Les Saintes Vierges lieu-dit, that was destemmed and aged in foudre. Strawberries, plums, mint, and incense notes all flow to a medium to full-bodied, ripe, pretty 2015 that has good acidity. Given its balance and purity, it’s going to drink nicely for 10-15 years.
