(93+) The 2015 Corton “Rognet” is the ripest wine in the Taupenot cellars this year, coming in at 13.9 percent octane, but again, remaining quite cool in the mouth. The bouquet is deep, sappy and quite black fruity in personality, wafting the glass in a mix of cassis, black cherries, dark soil tones, a touch of chocolate, venison, woodsmoke and vanillin oak. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied and plush on the attack, with a rock solid core, refined, ripe tannins and lovely length and grip on the focused and still very primary finish. This will be excellent. (Drink between 2025-2075)
