This opaque purple-colored beauty offers terrific black currant and cassis-like fruit intermixed with classic tobacco leaf, damp earth, and crushed flower aromas and flavors. Rich, full-bodied, and elegant, with a seamless texture that carries plenty of sweet tannins, give bottles 2-4 years in the cellar and it's going to keep for another 15-20 years. It's a beautiful, impeccably made wine.

Rich, tangy aromas of cassis, bitter chocolate, spicecake and black pepper. Tightly wound, savory wine with terrific peppery energy to its flavors of cassis, boysenberry and wild herbs. Lovely vibrant Cabernet with a restrained sweetness and a powerful spine for extended aging, but still quite youthfully imploded and in need of time in bottle to expand. Finishes with superb rising length. -- Stephen Tanzer

Fresh ferment-derived meaty notes with spicy oak across cassis, mulberries, fresh herbs and blue plums. The palate has a medium body and flavors of bright cassis fruit in approachable style. Drink or hold.

This wine is a blend of fruit from estate sites McQueen, Bob Healey and Lefore along with Pepper Bridge. The aromas draw you into the glass, with notes of high cacao chocolate, spice, bay leaf, dried flower, cassis, raspberry, herb and cherry, showing pleasing complexities. The black-currant, cherry and spice flavors coat the palate, bringing a sense of richness but still restraint and vibrancy.

Doubleback

Owning a winery was been a longtime aspiration of Drew Bledsoe, a former NFL quarterback, since it would allow him to combine his passion for fine wine and love of the Walla Walla Valley. Returning to his hometown in 2007, he planted his estate vineyard, McQueen, in SeVein Vineyards of Distinction. The following year, he launched Doubleback, an estate-focused winery, to produce ultra-premium Cabernet Sauvignon from the Walla Walla Valley. It has since received numerous accolades including a spot on the Wine Spectator’s Top 100 list.

The estate’s McQueen Vineyard spans 50 acres, planted to 14.4 acres of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Petit Verdot and Malbec. Acquired in 2011, the Bob Healy Vineyard is planted to 9.7 acres of Cabernet Sauvignon and Malbec.
