90+ Tasted blind, the 2015 Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Clos Saint-Jacques stood out for its rich, ripe and oaky bouquet of dark fruit preserves, melted chocolate, vanillin and game bird. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied, deep and powerful, with rich structuring tannins and juicy acids, concluding with a somewhat coarsely chewy finish. While this is a success in its style, it's borderline overripe, and I can't be confident in its long-term cellaring potential. - William Kelley
