Aromas of tar and blackberries as well as other black fruits follow through to medium to full body. Impressive palate that shows lots of ripe fruit. Powerful and balanced. Round and lightly dry tannins. Serious wine. Can age many years, but it's already excellent.

The 2015 Morgon Domaine Javernières Cote du Py is a sélection parcellaire made by the Duboeuf team. It has a lively and well defined bouquet with bright dark plum and blackcurrant scents, offering a little more mineralité than the regular Javernières. The palate is medium-bodied with smooth tannin, a pleasant lushness in the mouth with red cherry, strawberry and a touch of licorice towards the long finish. This is an excellent Morgon from Duboeuf. - Neal Martin

This creamy red shows layers of pureed raspberry, cherry tart and ground spice, accented by licorice, floral and white pepper details. Supple tannins and citrusy acidity linger into the finish. Drink now through 2022. 200 cases made. –GS
