Robert Parker's Wine Advocate, October 2017

The 2015 Chateauneuf du Pape is a terrific effort. Blended from six different lieux-dits, it's roughly 70% Grenache, 20% Syrah and 10% Mourvèdre. The result features bright raspberry fruit, plenty of weight and richness...

Wine Spectator, October 2017

Ripe and focused, with lively plum, raspberry and blackberry pâte de fruit notes that race along nicely, flecked with anise and fruitcake accents. A flash of shiso leaf adds life and cut to the finish, while the fruit...

jebdunnuck.com, October 2017

The standard blend of mostly 75% Grenache blended with 20% Syrah and 5% Mourvèdre, the 2015 Châteauneuf-du-Pape sports a medium ruby color and notes of black cherries, black raspberries, crushed flowers, and potpourri...

jamessuckling.com, August 2017

Rosehip, black tea, licorice and wild raspberry fruits adorn the nose, leading to a palate that is mapped out on ripe, smooth-rendered tannins and a red plum fruit core. Drink now.

TheWineCellarInsider.com, August 2017

Richly textured, forward in style with a juicy, sweet, dark red berry, smoke and earthy blend of aromatics. Round, open and spicy, this will be fun to taste young, as its brothers and sisters demand some time in the cellar.

Domaine de la Janasse, in the Southern Rhone, was founded in 1967 by Aime Sabon. Having returned from military service, he took over management of the family vineyards and formed an estate label, named after the family farm in the locality of “La Janasse”. A cellar was built in 1973 and new plots were acquired, growing the total holdings from 15 hectares to more than 90 today.

In 1991, after earning diplomas in viticulture, oenology and marketing, Aime’s son Christophe Sabon was given the keys to the cellar. His sister Isabelle joined the team in 2001.

La Janasse grows all 13 permissible grapes in the Chateauneuf-du-Pape appellation to give complexity and depth to their different wines. They produce 3 red and 2 white Chateauneuf du Pape wines, red, white and rose Cotes-du-Rhone, and a number of IGP wines.
